West Coast Baptist College Graduation

Two of our friends graduated this year from West Coast Baptist College:
Anica and Jaclyn.

We are excited for Jaclyn and Anica as well as all those who graduated, especially as they take this new step in their life.

I know for both Anica and Jaclyn, it was a little bitter-sweet to graduate. It is exciting to be moving on to new things, but at the same time it can be sad to leave behind all your friends and the life that you have built for so many years.

In addition to leaving behind friends, there can be a little bit of fear as you make the transition from full-time student to full-time Christian service. We pray the God would give them the grace and the guidance, and lead them to the exact ministry that God would have for them.

Samantha and I were blessed with the opportunity to attend this wonderful event. We were excited to take a road trip together and continue to build our life together.

Road trips have always been a lot of fun for me, but to be able to take trips with my wife has made them that much more enjoyable!

It has been about three years since I last visited Lancaster Baptist Church. It was very exciting to see how God has blessed their church both spiritually and financially.

It was also wonderful to hear that Dr. Make Zachary would be heading up the music department here at West Coast Baptist College. This should help the music at WCBC stay true and on the right path. Music will always be a vital area in any ministry, if the music can stay pure and holy, it usually sets the direction for everything else.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
Colossians 3:16

We were happy to have our pastor and his wife, as well as one of their daughters attend. It is always nice to see faces you know and love. Especially in a crowd of 3,000.

We also had the great blessing of taking a young man from our church along, named Raul. We sure had a lot of fun on this 13 hour drive.
Samantha and Raul worked on his paces, while I drove. I know this trip was spiritually good for us all, but especially for Raul. I think it was good for him to see "outside the box" of his life. To see there is more to the Christian life then just what he is been used to. I pray that it would give him a vision to live his life for God. To get dedicated and motivated and firm in his convictions. To dream big, and then become what God has called him to be

This year there were about 190 graduates in several different fields, and from various states and countries.

Pray that these young men and women would take what they have learned and use it for the Lord.

Following the graduation, we all went to the Olive Garden to celebrate with Jaclyn and her family. It was a wonderful time of food and fellowship.
You gotta love 'all you can eat' breadsticks!
